Try this
traditional Polish recipe for dumplings with mushrooms (pierogi). This is one of the best recognized, traditional dishes in
Poland. Ingredients:
1.Soakdriedmushroomsin water for2-3 hours.Thenboil(preferablyin the same, saltedwater) for about30-40 minutes.In the meantime,cookeggs (for around 10 minutes) andfrythe onion.. Drain the water off themushrooms and leave them for some time to cool down. Mince musrhoomstogetherwith eggsin order to createa massas in the picture.Next, add the mincedmushrooms with eggs to the onionbrowned earlier. Cook for another 10 minutes. 2.Preparethe doughfor the dumplings. You will need apastry board, roller, and a lot of strength:)
3.Kneadthe flourwithwarm water andoil. Knead the dough until it creates smooth and homogenous mass.
4. Sprinkle the pastry board with some flour. Roll out the kneaded pierogi dough until it creates a thin layer of approximately 2 millimeters. 5. Cut outcirclesfrom the dough using a glass. These later will be used for formingdumplings.
6.Place the stuffing in the circles of dough and formthe dumplings,squeezingthemwith your fingerson the edges. 6. Put the dumplings intoboilingsalted waterandcookforapprox.5-6minutes.
